Ima black woman from the south whose work twerks at the intersection of blackness, womanhood, and southerness. Ive been serving cornbread since the 90s.

Southern trees are the griots of the South. They hold wisdom and knowledge of the godly and the terror in the region. Listen as the trees talk my chile.

I wrote, directed, shot, and scored this film. My grandmother is the beautiful muse in this film. I wanted to honor her as well as all the women in my family and the world with this piece. I see black southern women as southern trees that are often looked up but rarely seen.

Thank you granny for being such an angel in this project. I am forever grateful for you!
