THE REVOLUTION WILL BE STRANGE
The Revolution Will Be STRANGE is a narrative era-bending and genre-defying short film that follows a young southern Black couple who are reckoning with the strangeness of the South. They find they have to become their own kind of strange to survive it.
OPEN CASTING CALL
Creative Cornbread, LLC. is seeking talented actors for the short film, The Revolution Will Be Strange, written and directed by Zaire Love.
To be considered for any role, you must complete the following:
Audition Form
Two Self-Taped Monologues [Your Choice and Provided (see below)]
Headshot and Full Body Shot
These materials must be submitted by Saturday, March 23, 2024, 11:59 PM CST to be considered for a role in the film.
Shoot dates occur between May and July for one week in Memphis, Tennessee, and North Mississippi.
SEEKING ROLES
Tem, Black, 30s :: A mellow man that embodies understanding and kindness and asserts his masculinty when it is needed.
Big Mama, Black, 60s-70s:: A wise woman whose identity lies at the intersection of gentle and gangsta.
Lily Ann, White, 30s:: A Stepford wife.
George, White, 30s:: A stern man and leader.
Sheriff, White, 50s:: A non-nonsense authoritarian with a dash of humor.
Baby, White, 1-2:: A cute friendly baby.
Extras [Monologues are not required.]
NOTE: You do not have to be these ages. However, you must be able to realistically play them.

I ain’t cold. I just ain’t good with my feelings is all. Hell, who would be? Every time young boy Charlie throws the paper in the morning there’s something to read that make ya chest hurt. Something that make you feel life ain’t so sweet after all. [beat.] You know I went down to Shelly’s bakery and they have cupcakes for 25 cents. They sitting in that window just as pretty and almost perfect. Make you want to be one. [beat.] We need more stuff like that in the paper. Bring us some good news. So I won’t seem so cold.
