TREES

Southern trees are the griots of the South. They tell of the beauty and the terror of this land. 

I wrote, directed, shot, and scored this film. My grandmother is my beautiful muse. I wanted to honor her as well as all the women in my family and the world with this piece. I see Black southern women as southern trees that are often standing tall but rarely seen.
